Northwest Health Foundation Grant

In December 2007 M.O.V.E. was awarded a grant from the Northwest Health Foundation in the amount of $35,000 to enhance the development of the organization and promote its mission of furthering the goals and values of the culture change movement in Oregon’s long term care settings.

While M.O.V.E.’s mission extends to all communities, this grant had a specific focus on nursing home education and training. In addition to the quarterly trainings held in the Portland-Salem area, the grant allowed for two training events to occur in rural areas of the state, one in Medford and one in Baker City,

The refinement of the coalition’s infrastructure, also supported through the NWHF grant, has taken form through facilitated strategic planning sessions with the Steering Committee, organizational communication technical assistance for the Steering Committee, securing a PO Box, brochure development, and design of the web site.
